Shotgun Gang Attack Birmingham Drugs House
Drugs Gang Jailed for 77 Years After Sparkhill Machete Attack Exposed Massive Class A Operation
A dangerous Birmingham drugs gang has been jailed for a combined total of more than 77 years following a major investigation by West Midlands Police.
The nine men were convicted of conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine after a 13-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court. The case began after a brutal machete attack at a drug prep house on Oakwood Road, Sparkhill, where a rival group armed with a shotgun and blades stormed the property.
Detectives launched an extensive investigation, recovering over 8kg of heroin and 1kg of crack cocaine hidden in Sparkhill Park, along with drug paraphernalia from the Oakwood Road address. The drugs had a street value that would have soared after cutting and distribution.
CCTV, mobile phone analysis, and witness reports led to early morning raids and the dismantling of a gang that ran at least six major drug lines across Birmingham.
The men sentenced include:
Mohammed Imran Khan, 37 – Gang leader, jailed for 14 years 2 months
Mohammed Ishaq, 32 – Attacked during raid, jailed for 10 years 2 months
Kaleem Ullah Khan, 37 – Caught with drugs, jailed for 13 years 3 months
Sohail Hussain, 31 – Fled scene with cocaine and machete, jailed for 9 years 9 months
Riaz Mohammed, 39 – Jailed for 7 years 6 months
Anwar Awais, 28 – Called ambulance for injured member, jailed for 7 years 4 months
Mohammed Hamza Butt, 25 – Clothing linked to dumped drugs, jailed for 8 years
Nowshad Mohammed, 29 – Present at drug address, jailed for 7 years 2 months
Ahmed Iqbal, 19 – Seen fleeing scene, sentencing pending
Detective Sergeant Danny Wilson said:
“This gang was dealing in the human misery of Class A drugs, exploiting vulnerable people and fuelling violence across our communities. These sentences should serve as a strong warning – we are coming for those who profit from this trade.”
West Midlands Police continues to target serious and organised crime under Operation Target, clamping down on guns, drugs, money laundering, and exploitation.
