🔴 Mohammed Durnion Charged With Murder of Coventry Woman Reanne Coulson
Reanne Coulson vanished in May. Now a body has been found in Binley Woods — and a man has been charged with her murder. Here is the full timeline and court updates.
A 42-year-old man has been charged with murder following the disappearance and suspected killing of Coventry woman Reanne Coulson.
Mohammed Durnion appeared before Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Friday 28 June. He was remanded in custody ahead of a preliminary hearing at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday 1 July.
The charge follows the discovery of a body in Binley Woods during a targeted police search on Thursday 27 June. While formal identification has not yet taken place, officers believe the body is that of Reanne Coulson. Her family have been informed.
The 34-year-old mother was last seen alive on the evening of Tuesday 21 May. CCTV captured her at 9.46pm outside St Mary & Benedict Church on Raglan Street in Hillfields, Coventry.
Her disappearance triggered a major investigation, as concerns mounted when she failed to make contact on her birthday, 17 June, and missed her young son’s birthday in May—behaviour family described as out of character.
Reanne Coulson was described by police and relatives as having lived a chaotic life, including periods of sex work. She was known to travel between Coventry, Atherstone and Leamington Spa.
Speaking earlier in the investigation, her twin sister Kirsten said: “Her life has not been easy for the last few years… She is a mum, a daughter and an aunt. She is loved by many.”
On Saturday 22 June, a 53-year-old man known to Reanne was arrested on suspicion of kidnap and murder. He remains under investigation but has not been charged.
Mohammed Durnion was arrested on Tuesday 25 June and subsequently charged with murder following further enquiries.
A third man, Adam Moore, 38, from Coventry, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice the following day. He has now been charged with assisting an offender and was also remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 24 July.
The cause of death has not yet been disclosed, and police have not confirmed how long the body had been in the woods prior to discovery.
Detective Superintendent Jim Munro of West Midlands Police said the investigation is ongoing and that officers are working to establish the full sequence of events leading to Reanne Coulson’s death.
Police are continuing to gather CCTV, forensic evidence and witness accounts as part of the live murder enquiry.
