New Campaign Slams Fake Knife Bans, Demands Real Action
Hi and welcome to this editorial, Introducing our new:
“Blunt-Truth, Sharp-Justice”
Grassroots Campaign, aimed at cutting Through the Lies to Fight Knife Crime With Real World Workable Solutions:
At Video Production News (VPN), alongside Jason King from JK News, we’re tired of the misinformation and political spin surrounding knife crime. The truth is, alleged knife bans and the “solutions” being sold to the public simply don’t address the real issues. That’s why we’re launching a new grassroots campaign that seeks to cut through the cover-ups and reveal the facts that many, including high-profile figures like Idris Elba, don’t want you to hear.
Our Mission: Real Talk, Real Solutions
For too long, public discussion about knife crime has focused on feel-good solutions that do nothing to tackle the root problem. Banning a very specific, very small minority of knives, as recent legislation has just done, sounds good in the media but does nothing whatsoever to address the actual reality. Here are the facts:
• The so-called “machete ban” covers only a small percentage of blades—those with serrated edges, spikes, or decorative elements. In reality, most machetes used in crimes are NOT covered by this ban, nor are household knives, scissors, screwdrivers, or chisels.
• Most knife crimes are committed with everyday tools you can find in any kitchen drawer. Banning one type of weapon doesn’t stop criminals from using another, often more lethal, weapon.
• And as it’s already illegal to carry all these knives in public under the Criminal Justice Act 1988, enforcing this existing law should be our priority—not creating new laws that make headlines but won’t save lives.
What’s the Solution?
Our campaign is about real, workable solutions that can be implemented now. We’re advocating for:
• Predictive, Data-Driven, Non-Ethnically Targeted Policing: Using statistical models to predict where knife crime is most likely to occur. This is not about targeting any group or community but focusing on high-crime areas and repeat offenders.
• Knife Wands for Everyday Police Use: These portable metal detectors can be rolled out across the UK, making it easier for police to perform spot checks. This simple tool has already shown to be highly effective in catching those carrying weapons.
These solutions work because they are grounded in evidence, not politics. But they’re not getting the attention they deserve because they’re uncomfortable for politicians and public figures like Idris Elba, who prefer to push simplistic, feel-good fixes.
We’re the Counter Group Fighting for the Truth
We’re positioning ourselves as the counter group to campaigns like Elba’s, which may have good intentions but fail to tell the whole story. We’re not here to shy away from hard facts or difficult conversations. Knife crime is an epidemic, and our leaders are avoiding the real solutions that could actually make a difference.
Who Are We Fighting For?
We’re fighting for the victims and families of knife crime, for those who have lost loved ones due to empty promises and failed legislation. We encourage like-minded campaigners, victims, families, and everyday people who want to make a real difference to join us.
“This is a movement for those who are tired of the lies and want real solutions”.
How You Can Get Involved
