Predator Albert Okyere Receives 14-Year Extended Sentence
Dangerous predator jailed for raping two women after a night out in Birmingham
Albert Okyere, 36, persuaded the women to accept a ride home, then diverted to a dark industrial site
He carried out a horrific sexual assault and raped one victim while the other remained trapped inside the car
The brutal attacks occurred in November 2015, but Okyere later fled to the Netherlands to evade justice
The fugitive was eventually extradited to the UK and sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on February 1
Judge Butterfield condemned Okyere’s lack of remorse and called it “predatory behavior from the outset”
The women, heavily intoxicated, had believed Okyere was offering them a safe ride home
Okyere, an IT professional, had a 2013 voyeurism conviction for watching women shower at a gym
In 2016, he was convicted of battery for a violent attack on his former partner after childbirth
The court heard about his sexual preoccupation, jealousy, and victim blaming
His lawyer, Yvonne Kramo, argued he did not abuse a position of trust as he wasn’t posing as a taxi driver
Okyere started a new relationship in the Netherlands and wishes to return there after release
He will be deported and remains supported by his partner and ex-wife
His 14-year sentence includes 12 years in prison and a 2-year extended licence
He will remain on the sex offenders register for life
The sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes and their lasting impact on the victims.
